Covid Update

We will continue to work with advice from our Australian Veterinary Association and the Queensland and Federal Governments to ensure we are complying with all measures appropriate to reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

21st July 2022

Dear Pet Community,
With the spike of flu and Covid in the community, we have decided to keep our masks on.
We kindly ask you to do the same when you visit us for appointments.
Let’s stay healthy together.

Covid Plan Update

  • In line with Government Regulations, Windaroo Animal Hospital has modified some processes. As an Essential Service we can remain open and continue to provide all our services while keeping pet owners and team members as safe as possible.
  • We now have a QR code to check in on arrival to assist our contact tracers if ever required
  • When we have a 1 person per 4 square metre rule, we recommend a Window or Outdoor consultation. This enables our Nurse to assist the Veterinarian in examining and treating your pet, whilst you can still be in view. When you arrive at the Hospital, please wait in your car and call us on 3807 3699. Someone will come out to collect your pet.
  • When we have a 1 person per 2 square metre rule, we can allow one pet owner into the consultation room. If you have other family members, please advise and we can an arrange an outdoor consultation.
  • For food and drug orders, please phone ahead 3807 3699 or send us an email: [email protected]
  • Please ensure you carry a face mask to wear as required according to government regulations.
  • Any person with respiratory signs should stay home and not come to the hospital. Please ask a friend to bring your pet in if required. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time

Latest WVS Updates In Relation To Covid-19

In the current COVID-19 situation, we are working hard to stay open to provide service for pets in need. We would like to make you aware of the changes we have implemented before you come into the Veterinary Hospital.

If you are suffering from any respiratory illness, are in self isolation, or you are immunocompromised, please adhere to Government Guidelines and # Stay at Home. We must adhere to the Government Protocols so please call us to discuss. We are not performing House Calls.

No “walkins” will be seen. Appointments are essential and we aim to stagger these to minimise contact between clients and enable us to manage the situation to the best of our ability.

On arrival we ask that you wait in the carpark area or in your car and give us a quick phone call – (we are not able to have people sitting together in the small space in the waiting room). No clients are to enter inside the Hospital. We will come and greet you when your vet is ready to see you.

To minimise contact between our Team and yourself, for the benefit of our Team and yourself, we are performing consultations in a new way. Our amazing large premises has allowed us to do this and still have personal discussion with you while examining the pet.

  • Consultations through the window: We will bring your pet into the Consultation Room. You can remain out in the open air, and hear and see into the consultation room, while a nurse assists the Vet with any minor procedures as necessary. Please be mindful not to touch the windows!
  • Outdoor consultations: Dogs only. We have a beautiful outdoor area, where unvaccinated dogs are not allowed. If your pet is currently vaccinated we can consult with you respecting a 2 metre distance, outside. This takes a little extra effort on our part, so please be patient. This would be appropriate for Euthanasias.
  • Home delivery of preventatives and ongoing medications: can be arranged for our clients, to minimise people traffic.
  • Payment: Debit and credit cards preferred.

We don’t know how long we will need to keep these measures in place, but we will continue to work with advice from our Australian Veterinary Association and the Queensland and Federal Governments to ensure we are complying with all measures appropriate to reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus.

In line with the recent Government Regulations regarding the lockdown, Windaroo Animal Hospital has modified some processes. As an Essential Service we can remain open and continue to provide all our services while keeping pet owners and team members as safe as possible.
  • When you arrive at the Hospital, please wait in your car and call us on 3807 3699. Someone will come out to collect your pet.
  • Due to the 1 person per 4 square metre rule, we recommend a Window or Outdoor consultation. This enables our Nurse to assist the Veterinarian in examining and treating your pet, whilst you can still be in view.
  • For food and drug orders, please phone ahead 3807 3699 or send us an email: [email protected]
  • Please ensure you carry a face mask to wear when close to others.
Any person with respiratory signs should stay home and not come to the hospital. Please ask a friend to bring your pet in if required. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time

Windaroo Animal Hospital continues to practice social distancing within the building and the grounds.

Whilst we still prefer one client in the enclosed consultation room with the Veterinarian and nurse, we will now allow two clients in the consultation room. Larger groups with children will need to be seen outside in the carport or garden area.

Please sanitise your hands on entry. We aim to limit 2 people at any one time in the waiting room.

We still manage food and medication pickups from the carpark area. Please phone ahead to keep this running smoothly.

We have returned to performing house calls but prefer to stay outside in your garden area.

If you are suffering from any respiratory illness or are in self isolation # Stay at Home. Arrange for someone else to bring your pet in.

No “walkins” will be seen. Appointments are essential and we aim to stagger these to minimise contact between clients and enable us to manage the situation to the best of our ability.

Payment is required at time of consultation and Debit and Credit card is preferred.

We appreciate your patience during these times and welcome the Covid vaccinations!
