Euthanasia

One of the hardest things we will ever have to do as pet owners is make the decision for euthanasia. Our veterinarians can help you to understand when this time has come.

During Covid restrictions

During the Covid restrictions, you can remain with your pet in our private outdoor garden area.

WVS Animal Hospital, as have most Veterinary Establishments, made the decision for clients to remain outside the Hospital building during Covid restrictions. Our outdoor area allows Pet Owners to remain with and hold their pet during the euthanasia process. Please book ahead to advise us of your wishes so we can enable this to run smoothly. (Please note there may be weather or daylight restrictions and pets must have been previously vaccinated.)

Unfortunately, we are not doing House calls during Covid restrictions.

After Care

Please note that local council’s DO NOT recommend home burial and hence we refer to our preferred cremation team – Pets in Peace - located at Loganholme.

Pets in Peace offer Individual Cremation services. They are very compassionate, and offer a personable service. They will pick up your pet from the WVS Animal Hospital to ensure the whole process goes as smoothly as possible. Please click here to view their website.

WVS Animal Hospital can also arrange a group cremation.

When you arrive at the Hospital, please wait in your car and call us on 3807 3699. Someone will come out to collect your pet. This enables our Nurse to assist the Veterinarian in examining and treating your pet, whilst you can still be in view. For food and drug orders, please phone ahead 3807 3699 or send us an email: [email protected]

Please ensure you carry a face mask to wear when close to others. Any person with respiratory signs should stay home and not come to the hospital. Please ask a friend to bring your pet in if required.
