WVS recommends all dogs are protected with a C5 vaccine. This includes:
Puppies: We offer a comprehensive vaccination program for puppies that enables them to be protected from ten weeks of age. Completing the vaccination course early allows for earlier socialisation. We recommend a C3 vaccination at 6-8 weeks of age and then a C5 vaccination (with intranasal Canine cough) at 16 weeks.
Adult dogs: WVS Animal Hospital has been recommending and using a three yearly core vaccine protocol and annual Canine Cough vaccine for over 10 years. This is consistent with the latest research and local and international vaccination guidelines. Canine cough vaccination needs to be given annually.
Annual health checks are included with every vaccination and are an opportunity for our Vets to carefully evaluate your dog’s general health. This includes dental examination, skin and heart checking and nail clipping. One year in a dog’s life equals about 7 years in our life!
For dogs over 7 years of age, WVS recommends a check-up twice a year.
F3 vaccinations are essential to protect your cat from disease and will enable them to go to a cattery should you ever require. The kitten vaccinations are given at six to eight weeks, 12 weeks and 16 weeks of age.
An F3 vaccination covers:
Feline AIDS: WVS Animal Hospital recommends this vaccination if your cat goes outside at all. Feline AIDS can be acquired during a cat fight from a bite by an infected cat. Cats require three doses with an intervaccination interval of two to four weeks. Once vaccinated, annual vaccination is recommended to maintain protection and address any concerns.
Annual health checks are included with every vaccination and are an opportunity for our Vets to carefully evaluate your cat’s general health. This includes dental examination, skin and heart checking. One year in a cat’s life equals about 5 years in our life!
For cats over 9 years of age, WVS recommends a check up twice a year.
