Our vets are passionate about helping animals with skin and ear problems. We understand skin irritations and ear infections can be very frustrating for pets and their owners as they are often recurrent due to underlying allergies. Treating infections, diagnosing the cause and making a long term plan for control is the aim.
In our laboratory we regularly perform cytology: this involves taking samples from ears, the skin surface, pustules or from lumps to understand the problem. Skin scrapings can be performed to look for mites. Treatment often involves a recheck with the Veterinarian. We can show you how to administer ear medications and shampoo therapies.
There has recently been development of new medications for allergies and itch that can improve the quality of life for many dogs.
