Progress Update: Twenty One
We’re into March 2016 and time has flown by. The build is running roughly to schedule and estimated to commence transition of the old-to-new-practice over Easter with an opening date of early April. Staff, clients and family are incredibly excited – and not to mention Lisa and Dave – and builder Luke who is set to head to Canada snowboarding as soon as the keys are handed over.
This week the trades have held momentum with the upstairs tiling being finalised today. The two-bedroom residential living quarters boast floor to ceiling bathroom tiles, Italian mosaic splashbacks in the kitchen and elongated timber look tiles in the living areas. The bedrooms will be complete with carpet and glass mirror sliders for the walk in wardrobes. Appliances are now also installed and looking fabulous.
Builder Luke is madly finalising the fit out upstairs complete with door locks, while carpenter Josh is downstairs commencing architraves and hanging internal doors after a great effort earlier this week finishing the concrete pathways. Next week will see the cornice set and the commercial grade vinyl flooring begin to be laid and finished off with tiles in the wet areas.
Kennel install and cabinetry is underway with kicks going in soon. The timber reception bench has now been ordered and is being custom handmade this week. We all can’t wait to see what Brian comes up with. Finally the asphalt carpark has commenced with kerbing and due for completion on Monday. Following this a small retaining wall will go in, and then the planting begins!
Nikki is also entering the build into the Master Builders awards, for Commercial building up to $5 million. Fingers crossed.
